Civil rights are a part of a liberal politics that state that rights are granted by virtue of our being human which is idealistic, but I have no complaints with the end result. But the concept is that rights need to be expanded to others, people without these rights are not considered fully human.

Since Musk doesn't consider anyone else to be his peer, and fascists have a race-oriented concept of who is full human being, what you should infer from this is that as you are not considered human to them, you have no rights, and aren't protected by law except that which pertains to property.

The fascists may be over extending themselves because even the most complacent liberals can be shocked if enough of this happens too quickly. Rather than cowing an entire population into submission, they seem to have triggered an immune response in people who actively see themselves as fighting back

I think they plan on riots happening. They sincerely want to invoke the insurrection act. The question in my mind isn't if they'll overreach, it's how do we capitalize on it when they do. We need to be smart. There is going to be a strong social media campaign targeting opposition leaders.

And I do mean target. It's very clear they absolutely intend to have asymmetric violence used against opposition and we need to be very aware people are going to be directly singled out.
