The ongoing measles outbreak in West Texas has doubled in size to 48 cases, mostly in children and teens, making it the state’s worst in nearly 30 years.

Lest we forget… we don’t develop vaccines for nuisance illnesses. Measles in children has a serious complication rate of 30% including profound diarrhea, pneumonia, and horrific neurological issues, many of which are permanent or fatal.
This is terrible for the children, but it’s also terrible for people who are immune suppressed. And a potential death sentence for people who get bone marrow transplants. Such callousness.
Measles outbreaks will continue to spread into new communities. Vaccines prevent disease, suffering, even death. History has proven overwhelming benefits to society.
