WrestleMania Week Press Blitz: Not since that time I snuck into a party at Pat Sajak's house have I heard so many people say "I voted for Trump and yes, what I actually want to do is make movies."

It's funny that everyone who leaves AEW for WWE cites acting as a reason when WWE doesn't really let people act, and AEW let's people act as much as they want.
“…and maybe a little SummerSlam. And of course I can’t miss Money in the Bank. And Survivor Series is a classic. And those Yeet shirts will be big collectibles some day so I should buy five or six. But other than that I’m DONE with them!”
At first I thought you were talking about the other thing. But for me, when I see someone who comes from outside of wrestling and has an exit plan (like movies) it feels like they don’t actually care about wrestling or take it seriously. Which is fine, but it makes me not want to watch them.
Guys who don't have an exit plan end up living in a crappy ranch houses & scraping a living off autographs & conventions after falling on their backs & necks for a living. If you're okay with that then you're the one who doesn't care.
Well that’s certainly a nice straw man, but since there are like maybe a dozen pro wrestlers who’ve made a living in Hollywood, maybe the better solutions is paying them better, giving them healthcare and retirement.
What does it mean to come “from outside of wrestling?”
Also…while I don’t disagree that everyone should have healthcare and retirement, that is more of a “straw man” since the world simply does not work that way.
My point was primarily that I never advocated for people to live in squalor and becoming a movie star isn’t a realistic solution to that issue. The majority of WWE’s current crop of up and comers were recruited after washing out of another field (football, bodybuilding, etc) 1/2.

It’s okay if wrestlers want to look at a life after wrestling.
every wrestler should be taught from day one that most careers are relatively short and having a “what’s next” plan is a good thing.
