Despite opposition parties refusing to recognize the election results and the legitimacy of the new parliament, the party recognized the authority of all 150 members.
Georgian President Salome Zourabishvili has denounced the parliament as unconstitutional and the election results as illegitimate, describing those who participate in the so-called parliament as entering Russia.
Students held sit-ins at universities, opposition groups blocked central streets in Tbilisi, and camp-out demonstrations were organized, one of which was violently dispersed, leading to 16 arrests.
