I've published op-eds in NYT & WaPo before, but am not sure how one breaks into the columnist beat.

I think being a columnist at WaPo or NYT or similar would be the greatest job I could imagine, and the one best suited to my skills.

I often fantasise about diving in headfirst somehow to try it.
