I strongly believe that video games with a defined end should have a credit roll, I don't really care if those credits are listed elsewhere. Give me a roll to sit and contemplate the people who worked on my game thank you and please

The credit roll is also a ritual where you reflect on your journey through the game. A good credit roll isn’t just fulfilling an obligation, it’s the ribbon that wraps up the entire package. Shoutout to the Beastieball credits sequence for being personalized depending on what you do in the game.
And also... I'm old enough to remember when there was a reward at the end of the credits... Including the only way to finish the game. So I watch credits these days out of fear and anticipation. 😆
Do you have any games that didn't? Like, I genuinely can't remember a game I've played in recent years that didn't. Hell, MMOs like Final Fantasy 14 have them multiple times during the main story.
The Halo Master Chief Collection cut out the credit rolls for every single game for some stupid, inexplicable reason. As someone who loves the single-player campaigns of all of those games, that's inexcusable. My biggest problem with that collection.
credits also give an opportunity to play a baller track
the credits songs of the metal gear solid series are some of my favorite songs of all time, and all of them can make me cry, even though i’ve listened to them so many times
Agreed, the credits in a lot of deep story games really let me contemplate how great the game was let’s me admire how many people collaborated to make one single piece of art. Especially love the credits for the game RDR2 with the music and small reflective cutscenes in between
On that topic, whenever the credits have some interactive portion, they're almost always peak (in fact, one of them might be my favorite moment in any video game, but I can't say which one for fear of ruining it)
