Three is a lot but you must have some body parts affected by only one or two, so there's room for more. Are you looking to stay within autoimmune diseases or would you like to branch out? Migraines are a popular choice, or if you want something exotic may I recommend sarcoidosis?

Dumb question, but I was recently kicked off Medicaid (for being $26 over) so only have Medicare. What happens if you don't pay your medical bills? Will your doctors stop seeing you? Am trying to switch to the hospital which picks up the tab for low income but there's a very long wait list.

I don't know where you live but there are lists in the net with docs who do provide medical services to those who can't afford them otherwise.

Yep and they usually have very long wait lists or they only serve the unhoused. Most places have a hospital that covers, but often the only short term options are urgent care or the ER.

I had to go the ER last year and I was there 12 hours only to be told to see my primary, where I would have had to wait weeks for an appt. Many of us here have specialist needs. Even if you have a primary it can be months to get in. I used to go to urgent care but now I have a huge co-pay.

A lot of us don't have urgent needs as much as we need help with "maintenance". People think these services exist when they don't. Many of us do not want sit in crowded waiting rooms.

Same here - it costs me a lot of energy and patience to sit in a waiting room. And although our health system is fairly better than that of the US, certain things are less well covered.

My medical group definitely won't. I've had them refuse to see me, or send the billing person out to talk to me in the lobby before my appointment. Not anywhere private, I think they're trying to shame you. I was behind by about $100.
