Never had a doctor even treat me with basic respect.

Big issue amongst adoptees- if you can't prove you have a "history", they often completely refuse all testing. A lot of us have/had "mysterious" illnesses that never get treated unless we pay for corporate genetic testing or a (family) search.

Yes indeed. The dilemma is, often for specialists, they may only be a few in your area, and then you have to find one who takes your insurance and then wait for months for an appt to find out whether they are a "good" one or not. But definitely better to not keep seeing one who is not helping.
