Many people will feel relief from this result. Many others will feel fear. No one is cruel for being upset or selfish for cheering. But remember: this is only the start of the legislative process. And only the start of asking how the state can ease suffering - in life as well as death.

I note voices already suggesting 'assisted dying' be applied to dementia.
How someone with dementia is considered aware enough to consent to being killed by 'assisted dying' when they are not considered aware enough to alter their own Will is beyond me.

I have heard 'lessons will be leaned' so many times over the decades and yet ... here we are ... still feigning surprise at medics like Letby, and still telling ourselves that 'lessons will be learned'.
The only lesson we have learned is that ... we never learn lessons.
Or should they just suffer because what might be proposed in the future?
I support the bill for terminally ill and only that.
I do not support what may or may not be added. Thank you for your response
