Universal masking and social distancing at the start of the pandemic were so effective that they eliminated a strain of flu, and now annual flu vaccines have been redesigned because that strain no longer needs to be included in the shot. Amazing.

It was stopping visibly fevered, coughing passengers from flying that played a significant role. Then the virus ran out of new hosts from #socialdistancing for a period of a few weeks/months.
I’m an immunocompromised teacher who has worked with 20-30 kids a day since the pandemic began. I wear a mask every day and have never caught a single illness from school even though I know many of my students have had Covid. I used to get sick a lot from school. Masks work
Wondering what other diseases could be vulnerable to such tactics. Even if they weren't eliminated, think how nice it would be to have only 2% as much norovirus or whatever. Could occasional transmission roadblocks knock percentages way back?
