Since the start of COVID, the number of people reporting a disability soared. Yet the majority of the world acts like COVID is over, and Long COVID doesn't exist.

Same here, 3 times in 9 months and have been struggling with long covid for 3 years. Last year a gastrointestinal infection caused by long covid led to sepsis, almost killed me.
I feel for you as well. I found a holistic nutritionist, and with her help followed a strict anti inflammatory diet, as well as using organic supplements, to help heal my gut. The doctors told me that it would take 1-2 yrs. After 8 months, my blood work showed back in normal range.
I just had surgery. Wrapped my stomach around my esophagus 270 degrees, I have Barretts Esophagus, and my esophagus had torn away from my stomach. The pictures are gnarly
There have been studies showing that COVID dies cause brain and organ damage, what's not yet clear is how that damage will come back to haunt them. It will though, my partner endured cardiac damage from chemo before he was 30 and it wasn't until after 40 that symptoms started.
Those who have later health issues because of covid may never put two and two together. And the scientists will study it all but sadly may also be in denial that it's from covid as the root cause.
I have long covid. So do several friends. It has caused major problems with internal organs. My life has been up and down health wise since I contracted covid.
I've never had Covid....but, was diagnosed with post vaccination syndrome..... Which is incredibly rare....so, people don't have to worry.....but, it still sucks to be me sometimes
10:1 says that if said disability no longer entitled people to benefits, the number of rd ovaries would be miraculous. I am not saying that there are real cases but the numbers are inflated. Like the UK public sector where the levels of ‘disability’ are five times that in the rest of society.
Fuck this graph though. Makes it look like it's 50% increase when it's really <15%. Still not great, but like did we really need to obfuscate the Y axis?
When they first moved in I introduced myself as a "Libtard from NYC" - they pretty much left me alone after that.
From time to time I'll get "I did my due diligence", while talking to ME, who told them I was vaxxed three times: "Everyone I know who took the vaccine has died" I said "Am I dead too?"
I have not stopped wearing a mask because I am so fearful of catching covid (therefore, long covid)
Also, my husband is very susceptible to respiratory viruses (2x in hospital CCU). First time from flu complications into hyponatremia, second bronchitis into yet another hyponatremia.
Genuinely curious how much of this can be attributed to the increase in people recognizing their own mental health concerns and recognizing that facet of disability during lockdown
The Disability Status Reports from Cornell University further break down U.S. disability statistics by age group and disability type, and you can compare the change in prevalence rates over time. (e.g. compare the rates in 2019 vs. in 2023)
e.g. for non-institutionalized people ages 16 to 20 in the U.S., the prevalence rates for the disability types below increased by the associated amount between 2019 and 2023:
Oh I didn’t expect it to be anywhere near the number caused by long covid. I was just curious because I know several people who learned of their own invisible disabilities during this period. Thanks for digging into this!
Same here - and now the Government plans to penalise people by refusing benefits and forcing them to try to work...along with many other sick and disabled people.
Start evaluating whether your posting conveys empowerment or coercion (fear). Keep digging if you can't find anything powerful to convey. Motivation without direction is promoting chaos. Focus please, and be clear about it.
Very telling chart. I worry that data collection will be targeted for elimination, because if you’re going to undermine healthcare, you don’t want to know the consequences.
I do not know enough to dismiss "long covid". At the same time I think it needs to be said that the long lasting psychological effects of the entire ridiculous handling of the pandemic are hard to over-state.
Lack of exercise, sunshine, and proper diets also took their toll.
It's always been a slow burn mass disabling event. Those in power know it and it's why they're trying to make abortion illegal. People are going to be dying younger, but we still need orphans for the orphan crushing machine.
Not sure what to make of it anymore. Just had enough of maggots and the nonsense they spew. I am saddened by the 10 dems that voted to censor Al Green. The betrayal is mindboggling.

Those are new disabilities that run from not working to brain fog.
But what is not known is organ damage in younger ppl
I have brain fog that stops word retrieval and access to memories 😵💫
Initially many ppl lost 20% of their air processing capacity. The question is will they ever get it back.
There is heart damage that was documented initially too but we do not have long term studies to see if there is any recovery
New cases reported: 97↑
*14 new cases each day
New hospitalizations:13↑
New patients in ICU: 1
Deaths: 2 ↑
_____________
Brainfog are one after symptom
🟣 It's not (over).
🟣 It does (exist).

Never.
It’s great to see their Covid coverage.

(COVID is known to infect the brain and cause cognitive dysfunction in many cases, including new mental health symptoms.)
Lack of exercise, sunshine, and proper diets also took their toll.
Joe Biden was elected President of the United States on November 3, 2020.
(Compelled to find this since I can't accuse the vaccine, oops, genetic injection)
Wouldn't have happened under Trump's watch. Never ever. Nope.
You didn’t take it literally, did you?
