I live in Wylie and we are not that far east. We are a suburb of Plano, which is a suburb of Dallas. Yes unfortunately, there are a lot of republican Trump supporters, but I don’t think we fall into the deep red section.

I posted a video from Palestine in this thread as well so that part I circled covers Wylie and Palestine. Wylie votes went 55% for Trump and 61% for Rep Self. Palestine went 81% of votes to Trump.
I was trying to circle the county Wylie is in (Collin County) along with the area Palestine is in-I posted a video from Palestine in the thread. That’s why the circle is so big.
Self’s district covers some of the boomtowns north of Dallas, including Allen, where there was a mass shooting at an outlet mall. Afterwards he was miffed about being criticized as a thoughts and prayers do nothing bullshitter. God “is absolutely in control of our lives.”
I am surprised to see it called “deep red” now. At least Collin Co was more blue than surrounding when we lived there. ‘17
I am not surprised by the reaction. Most of my neighbors (in the then new development), were not “Texans”, educated, and had relocated from all over for work in Dallas.
I’m in deep red but I am farther East. Colin County is probably more accurately described as red. The county voted 55% for a Trump and 61% for Rep Self who is the guy in the video. Palestine-the city of the video I posted- is deep red, 81% of votes cast to Trump.

It’s basically redneck hell.
