today's repair I suppose; she is missing one of her ears because this was sold as a parts unit. damaged housing and corrupted firmware but after reflashing it seems to be functional. going to see how it performs as a dedicated router for wireless vr
didn't fix the bizarre h264 lag spike issue I have been experiencing in virtual desktop for over a year.. but that is why I switched to airlink. nearly zero issues there and having the router in the room will only improve stability, so I am still a happy vr animal 🥽🦊
h264 has always had issues for us with VD, but switching to HVEC and just using a lower bitrate has pretty much completely fixed the issue, using a router in the same room we play in
We usually have it between 80-100 with auto adjust turned off and it's smooth
yeah, I had seen that switching to hevc was a common workaround, but I prefer h264 at high bitrate for the clarity, and airlink can reach 350+ without issue in my environment. thank you for giving another testimony that h264 doesn't work in vd.. it has been maddening feeling it is broken only for me
Yeahh it's not great, we've had *slightly* better results with h264+, but it's still unreliable
Tbh from our experience hvec is surprisingly high quality, other than during very intense things like particle infested vrc worlds or somethin lol, it's pretty near "true" quality when around 100 for us

Still waiting for Virtual desktop to support hand tracking on Pico, then it's the easy winner for us lol
