Agree that intimacy coordinators are a positive force, but the article is a bit disingenuous. She's not trashing them; she's confused because her experience was different, and at this point she knows her own boundaries. Out of touch, sure--but not out of line.

If she finally knows her boundaries now (which I wouldn’t say are great, because what she describes is a series of terrible working environments, not just intimacy scenes) that’s fine for her, but she’s not the axis around which everything else spins.

So her cluelessness is a problem.

It really is the “I turned out fine despite all of these abuses” method of denial of an abusive situation, and while yes, that’s a coping method, it’s a method based in unhealthy behavior and ideation and it either perpetuates the harm or it breaks the person underneath.
