I remember how, as soon as it came out that severe COVID outcomes were disproportionately minorities, a lot of white people concluded that COVID wasn't so bad.
Nevermind that this didn't make COVID any less dangerous for them. Racism sat higher on their hierarchy of needs than self-preservation.
