Distinctly remember how fast the anti-lockdown protests ramped up after that info came to be more widely known. AND I remember a paper that documented white supremacists making plans to get Covid and go to predominantly Black and Brown areas to spread it.

Dodged it until this last Christmas and needed a week to get over the brunt of it. Seem to have won the long covid symptom of peripheral neuropathy in my left thigh. I really wish it was over, but seeing so many of my net pals getting laid out for weeks this winter has been depressing.

By April 2020 as COVID-19 demographic data began being released by state & suggested deaths were much more heavily concentrated among black, Latino, and poor elderly people, suddenly it was 'OPEN UP! LIBERATE!' and it only got worse from then.

I was in hospital with covid 4/2020 when the Michigan Capitol was overrun by armed anti lockdown protesters. Doctors & Nurses were saying it wasn't going to end well if they got their way & they were right.
Now we have an epidemic of long covid that's affecting the white middle class.

And we basically no longer have any societal commitment to public health, i e a unified moral understanding that communicable diseases must be stopped and prevented. That is now mostly gone and in its place we have a mix of modernity and late 19th century approaches.
