Indie has saved so many genres, I’m grateful it’s become so robust. I was SO sad when fantasy romance and vampire romance went quiet in trad and so happy when I discovered it in indie.

Honestly! Readers don't just stop reading the kind of stories they like just because trad decides a trend is over. I got advice in like 2014 that indie works really well if you niche down, and while I haven't TAKEN that advice, I see it work for people time and time again.

All the major online ebook retailers have an ebook sales platform. With that said, if you're looking to do it seriously and don't mind spending a bit on a VERY robust class, Publishing & Thrive from Sarra Cannon is filled with a ton of resources and actionable steps for all of them (including AMZ).

It definitely seems like indie is, at least in some cases and sub/genres, being a taste tester for traditional publishing. I don't entirely know how I feel about it, but I know authors quietly making bank in indie, and others taking wild creative swings that would be hard to do with some pubs.
