Having tried out the Epic Universe version I thought it was okay, the AR was unnecessary and the Mario Kart theme was out of place for a ride about a racing game where you literally do not race.
Literally couldn't get in. Much like everything else Epic Universe pre-launch their virtual queue system was broken. That said, you can tell they've had the most experience doing HP because it's the most detailed and well designed area of the entire park.
Everything about the AR visor was awkward and did not add much; I prefer Astro Blasters/ToyStory mania/Spidey…I found myself removing to visor just to see the actual ride
To be fair in USJ the ride never stops and feels like the intended speed, in Universal Hollywood it slows down often, makes sense if you think about that most people in Japan walks the queue while in the US you have several accessibility options.
That helps take the sting of having to sit out the inaugural year a bit. From what I’ve seen they’re not allowing any 1 or 2 day park tickets to Epic Universe
I'm going on Thursday for Grad Bash with the school I teach at. I've gone 3 times so far and each time I get there the ride's closed for the night. So not worth rushing over??
