The Red Sox are all over Passan’s free agency primer for ESPN+. In on Soto, Fried, Teoscar, O’Neill, and interested in trading for Crochet. Planning to “spend heavy.” Pivetta “almost certainly won't accept the qualifying offer to return to Boston.”

So instead of coming out and saying "full throttle" they'll just leak that they're interested in everyone? Please just give me something to get excited about!
I like all of those except Soto. Let the Yankees pay a billion dollars for 2 players and treat them like porcelain dolls over the next 10 years. I'd rather have 9 really good position players who run through walls like Abreu.
Not at 600m - that's nearly what Ohtani got and he's basically two elite players. That's the kind of contract that prevents you from filling holes. The team we had this year healthier plus Crochet, Fried and 2-3 bullpen additions would be a young playoff team and we'd have the cash for more moves.
There had been some tea leaves in local media that there was strong interest in him at the deadline. Looking like a potentially great read by Bres and the FO.
Not only that, but if you check his metrics on the tracking sites, his fastball and breaking stuff have borderline elite qualities. Like, his fastball has pretty insane IVB.
What are your thoughts on Teoscar vs oneill vs a third option. I feel like there’s not a really good and easy solution to their left handed hitting “problem”. Well other than signing Soto
The last thing I want is if we get the pick for Pivetta to then turn around and lose it on Teoscar. I'd prefer to just pay TO... or find this year's verson of TO, or make a substantial trade for a longer term RH bat.
Sure - these are exciting rumors but until something materializes, I won't give FSG any credit. When are we going to get your official offseason predictions, Stats?
No offseason prediction this year. Have no idea how Breslow or Henry are going to behave. Everyone knows what the Sox need and there are options for each. Soto, Snell (highhh AAV for 3 years), Fried would be my 1-2-3 priority before anything else. Then how low can the Crochet cost get. PIT Jones.
Can Anthony play center? The SoxProspect guys seem to be suggesting he ends up in the corner. I low key think Campbell ends up the opening day CF if we doing a Duran for Jones type blockbuster.
Sherman wrote about Correa being traded and mentioned the Yankees or Mets trading one of their bad contracts. You wonder if the Sox could make a similiar trade with Yoshida or Story contract
What if, by signing Soto, the Red Sox brass thinks that they can get back in the good graces and reverse the complete calamity of the Mookie Betts situation? Would it do it for you? Don't think it does for me. #LFG #RedSox
*If* the sox spend big this offseason, I think it does validate them that they had a plan. They made a calculated decision to lay low until the farm was ready to be green lighted, and now they become more aggressive. But that is a big if
I looked at him earlier, and it was.. fine. He's super hot and cold, and the hot is very rarely beyond warm. His flyball data doesn't seem like it would get much help from Fenway. I don't see him pushing this team meaninfully forward.
I agree, I don’t think he’s a needle-mover. I’m not even sure how they’d align on such a deal; still, given the lack of available RHH it is something to think about I’d think

Does that sound accurate? If so, what would the rest of that package look like?
