The Arenado stuff feels gross. If we miss out on Soto, I’d prefer to just focus massively on pitching. If Breslow can’t help himself from Bregman or Adames, I’d much prefer they play 2B, with Duran in CF, and Rafaela fighting for a starting job in spring training with Campbell and Anthony.

Just sign a starter.
Casas is off limits, there is no chance he is traded at a minimum inflection point in his value considering injury history.
There is just no world where he could be traded
I don't even want Soto at 600 million+ - that's a huge misunderstanding of Ohtani's unique value. Soto can't pitch.
Steamer has for 3.5 WAR. Not a pressing need, but feels would be a great add?
Career 27.2% K rate.
And you’re paying him coming off his best offensive career season. I’d bet on some regression.
But yeah, I wouldn’t be in on him UNLESS they missed out on the pitchers and just needed a upgrade w/o hurting farm
Throwing money at a problem that doesn’t exist because you failed to address the team’s actual problems (front line SP) might be more frustrating than doing nothing at all last offseason.
- Trevor Story exists, and Mayer, and Campbell
- spend the fucking money on pitching
Adding Arenado/Bregman/Adames makes adding an impact SP more complicated. Too many trades.
They need a top tier SP anyways, and signing a FA seems much easier than hoping they match up with a trade partner for a cost controlled top tier SP 🤣
Have no interest in Adames for the contract he’s getting.
