They did it by saving money with home grown players and Freidman not doing ling term deals until just a fee years ago. It will bite them at some point but now enjoy it.
I like the idea of the Sox signing Hoffman to a small deal where they can either convert him into a starter for depth or use him out of the pen (like a cheaper albeit lower ceiling version of the giants Hicks deal)
I agree with this too. I figure some of the depth is likely to play into one of the trades they’re looking at. Totally feel like Burnes or Fried would be key even if they trade for crochet (snell was the top of my want list for pitchers)
Im pretty much fine with whatever, I also wouldn’t even mind signing Martin and Yates on one year deals instead. Scott is gonna get a deal that’s huge and close to Hader I think
