The scariest pitching prospects are the ones that make it to the majors and then immediately get hurt. Not only is it a question on if they are good when they come back, but if they are good you just burned too pre-arb years.

I think what’s scarier is trading for them. It’s one thing to dev your Own guys, but it’s so crushing if you trade the farm for a young sp and he gets hurt

My philosophy has always been buy and develop arms, never trade the farm for them (why I disliked crochet trade)

My understanding has always been that teams do much better at retaining high end starting pitching via free agency or trade. I certainly empathize with Sox fans's skepticism given they haven't developed an ace in 41 years

2 Top 100 Prospects (1 who is already in the Majors) is not “Little to no value”. Not saying that it was a bad trade, but saying that the Sox gave up nothing is bullshit

Teel was so highly touted bc of being a catcher. The defense has fallen off every year at the professional level. Hes being considered a corner OF long term now and the bat isn’t that good. Montgomery played zero professional games prior to the trade. It’s a steal.
