If art is your hobby and you do it as a job, you need to accept that there will be times (sometimes years) where you lose that hobby.
I think it's really unfair that monetizing art is so often framed as "you'll never work a day in your life" and not "you might lose something very important to you"

Artists - just cause you CAN monetize your work doesn't mean you should. There is NOTHING wrong with just doing art as a hobby. I miss it actually. When my art became my main source of income, my relationship with my work changed forever (and often feels way less creative than it used to be).

We're at the point some people feel pressured to monetize every moment just to get by.
I know I've even been guilty of "I should be streaming this game" thinking rather than play for my self.
I'd rather lose money than enjoyment when it comes to this skill.
