9/11 emergency responders suffered moderate-severe respiratory problems in the wake of the towers' collapse. Not only were the crews exposed to toxic fumes, heat and dust inhalation, the air was full of aerosolized glass particles which entered their lungs. Awful.

My niece was Met Police and had to attend Grenfell to look for evidence of bodies etc. She died of cancer last July.

It is important that these firefighters are treated and that the debilitating conditions are recognised. Please can we also have the same health screenings for the residents who survived the Grenfell fire and those in the surrounding community who were exposed to the toxic smoke and debris?
