There are maximum length restrictions in the UK and Europe for freight trucks and trailers. US trucks are also too long to legally use with US or UK/Euro trailers.

Similarly we don't buy US cars because they are physically too big, get only 15 mpg, and the US car manufacturers are too lazy to manufacture vehicles Europeans actually want to buy and won't set-up an import & distribution/dealership network in Europe (ok, Jeep sort of does half heartedly)!

But theyre built to the standard of the manufacturer and the design is copyrighted. Also a lot of components are imported. There's no way Mercedes would allow their cars to be built in if it didn't perform the exact same way as if it was built in Germany.

Hire co ended up "upgrading" me to a massive GMC when family were over there, really spacious inside but handled like a bus, sluggish as hell to accelerate, awful braking, and I couldn't believe it when I filled it up to give it back - it got 8 mpg.

I've no idea why Americans tolerate such sh*t.

As a Brit living in US, the hardest thing to adapt to is the fact that so much of the food contains some kind of syrup it’s effectively toxic glue & inedible. If we ever succumbed to a trade deal where we had to take US food we will be in big trouble with toxins, cancers etc.

Even heard on the radio here recently that chlorinated chicken is fine... We use chlorine on packed salad. They're right - nothing wrong with chlorine. However why do you want to eat meat that's such poor quality and so filthy that you literally need to bleach it to make it safe?
