perfectly sums up Starmer's Labour
Take that doubling away to pay for the defence of the country and infrastructure that allows them to make so much money.
There's always a reason for everything if you care to look for it π€·
It lacks ambition for UK hard- and soft-power and in terms of domestic politics - with opposition parties, media and donors desperately xenophobic and against any and all public expenditure that isn't directly beneficial to themselves - the overseas poor were the easy target.

It's the rich that benefit from military spending. The wars that are just fronts for resource plundering.
Let THEM pay for their militaries.
It took the Green Party until March 2023, over a year after Russia's second invasion of Ukraine, to reluctantly decide to u-turn on NATO membership.
I will take no lectures from this unserious party.
But woolly-minded pacifists should not have the right to take the high ground when Green Party policies would have stopped the UK from helping Ukraine in any meaningful way.
A wealth tax is not a hard choice.
It hurts no-one. (βHurtsβ!)
It is very productive.
It protects public services.
Theyβd all threaten to go, and we can call their bluff. So that threat would also be dead in the water.
Sounds like there are really no downsides. Except donors.
Such a shame the electorate rarely vote for parties that promote the blindingly obvious.
- we continue to let the Royal Family veto it
- we allow lobbyists for wealth managers to lie to us
- we are cowards
Votes will split, your next PM will be Farage, the Cunt of Clacton
