Initially you think "hey, well blood flying in the direction makes sense!" but, even at placeholder levels it's like... naw this is wrong. Also check out that shockwave effect I was using initially.

From here the thinking was "ribbons?" but,

lemme be real witchu ribbons suck, they always suck. They're fine! Just. For whatever reason, most effects I think would go well with ribbons, like some kinda claw strike thingy here, just sorta. Don't? I always lose half a day trying to make ribbons work.

Fun little bonus trick here: want the gleam to seem like it moves with the attack?

You just uh. Move it. Literally. Give it a nudge in the force direction. Since the gleam you're making expands and contracts vertically, when you nudge it, it just looks like the gleam morphs in that direction. Neat!

And then we're, here. Basically to the above, but still with that shockwave underpinning it. Which I just, you know, removed!

Because now I have this little star of lines (which I dialed back size-wise and randomized a bit) and that's, well. Enough!
