Trump is poised to abuse the pardon power more than any president in history. Biden just undermined that objection. Democrats are going to lose the plot reflexively defending him or engaging in whataboutism.

In late 2000 we did a march in NYC in hopes Bill C. would pardon Peletier.
Lots ended up in jail for 72 hours.
Similar thing happened in 2016, though not as many jailed.
Democrats could care less.

I'm not excusing the Hunter thing, I have OTHER thoughts about how this sort of pardon contrasts with the high-minded nobility act Biden initially ran on this past election.

Bureaucratic simp that I am, one cannot make something like the presidential pardon and not expect someone to go "yeah i am not going to pardon my family".

If you think the presidential pardon has value, some level of nepotistic use of it is to be expected.

I think regardless of what hunter did it's pretty obvious what his reasoning for pardonimg him is for considering the timing of it (agreeing with you)
