The argument was that the entire GOP was incredibly dangerous, and that Trump wasn’t a unique threat bcz he could only do the incredibly evil shit he wanted to if supposedly “moderate” Repubs, and the Dems who reach across the aisle to them, allow it. No one was arguing that Trump was harmless.

I knew no one on the left who saw Trump as not dangerous other than contrarians w/ some leftist views. Most leftists viewed him as a proto fascist. What Reagan Dems aka centrists hate is how correct the message was in 2015. “We must take on the billionaire class.”
