You just articulated why I always felt a way with the "superhuman" description used as a compliment. It also feels sort of dismissive of the real struggled we face being accepted and properly treated in society.

It's not just ableism it's used with racism, too. Black people are fast sprinters "because superhuman ability." In reality black people in America can only run safely on a track and focus on track sports like sprinting. Ahmaud Arbery was killed while on a jog.

Yes! Such a good point and very much applicable to racism as well. These "superhumans" are praised for their unique qualities in one breath, while in another are discriminated against when society is actually confronted with what that actually looks like outside of the way they idealized it.
