I've not had a tripod before this winter, so all my previous outdoor photos were taken where I could find a suitable tree or something similar to hold my camera for me.

I usually use a trekking pole, piece of cord and the adjustable grip hitch knot to attach my phone to it. I did not have my poles on this trip though. And a tripod does sound easier 😆
