I have heard a lot of praise for Slay the Princess - And rightfully so, its brilliant. But, I want to say, if you enjoyed that game please, check out Scarlet Hollow.
It's by the same developers. I really thought that it wouldn't top Slay the Princess for me, and I was positively proven wrong.

However, probably as a combination of recent experience and awe at the amount of content, my current personal preference falls onto Scarlet Hollow.
I do of course understand holding off on it for now though.
The horror and illustration is incredible, the dialogue and character feel real. It's cozy when it needs to be, and distressing when called for.
It's bloody brilliant. Slay the Princess is amazing too, play that if you haven't as well.
it's a masterclass in balancing small, numerous choices and big, impactful paths. also their piece on multi-axis relationships is revolutionary!
I've been told this mostly applies to the first two chapters; the checks will be there but you get less and less chances to pivot your personality/relationship standing hereafter; but it's still great imo
it's only around the start of five that we're treating the values as relatively settled (but still with room for wide swings for big choices)
