To be fair to Superman even X-ray vision wasn’t going to help. It’s not like he was keeping kids locked up in the backroom by the lettuce or something.
He couldn't sense the harmed children and misery on him. Unfortunately Superman doesn't have a super sense of smell for that. Meanwhile Batman probably would have known and folded Jared's ass in half. (Partially joking, and not a dig on Superman). Lol
