I knew about this and helped teach about it (Student Aid).
Trump is guilty of punishable acts: the conspiracy and attempts to commit and public incitement to commit genocide, mainly exhibit E of from the "Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (1948)"

Also he did do exhibit E: Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. It's irrefutable.
I'm a Hispanic in a predominantly Mexican town and saw kids being separated from their families when ICE was sent on us a couple years ago when he was in office.

He specifically talked about using the same legislation to incarcerate immigrants during his campaign. I can't read the article, but I don't think this is a clear reading of the injustices that occurred in WWII. Incarceration on the basis of race should not happen to citizens, but stripping citizenship wasn't attempted in the EO. Maybe w loyalty Qs later?

The Denaturalization Act of 1944 enabled the renunciation of citizenship for incarcerated American Japanese. Technically Kudo "voluntarily" renounced citizenship, but when you incarcerate someone's children in a concentration camp, it's hardly purely "voluntary". Some chose deportation over prison.

Absolutely. I also know there were adult children who might have stayed but needed to accompany parents who wanted to return. No one should have been put in these situations. And the loyalty questions made the initial tragedy even worse.

Right. What's often also not understood about this is that the US wanted to eject them (based on known disinformation) but Japan considered them equally untrustworthy. American Japanese at this time were stateless people. The damage of course is multi-generational.

And you’re absolutely right. I think there’s a level of denial, or hope that it can’t “be that bad.” But it really is. He has lots of advisors helping figure out the best ways to be cruel.
