Labour seem desperate to prove that, despite over 10 years in opposition, they don't have a plan. No new ideas, no overarching strategy, not even a principled mission statement.

Every proposal we hear seems like they've just been copying the Tories' homework, and are now turning it in late.

I don't understand why Labour is not devolving fiscal powers to 8 or 10 English regions with a Barnett like formula

It would be the correct thing to do and help future proof any right wing lurch

We don't need an industrial policy, we need 10 or more brought together by central government

The treasury is too powerful and lacks long term thinking. They seem to only want to back things with quick returns, even if it's worse value in the long run. The reluctance around new railways and infrastructure which is desperately needed proves it. The sooner power is decentralised the better.

The problem is we look at everything in reverse in this country.......we are obsessed by current statistics and situations rather than looking 30 or 50 years in the future.
People keep saying we have no land in this country - that is just pure bollocks.....it's just we won't invest there because....

we don't need to yet and the treasury hasn't done 15 million impact studies as a way of justifying economic inaction! Manchester doesn't need more investment but it needs better links to allow other parts of the north and Midlands to be invested in equally.

But in the same way the people of this country doesn't need trickle down economics, but rather waterfall economics, the country itself doesn't need tinkering or individual projects where money trickles down, it needs a massive concerted national plan that is decades long and cross party guaranteed!x
