That's a silly history that ignores that antifascism has its roots in anarchist, communist AND demsoc traditions. There were anarchist antifa streetfighters in Italy long before what you're talking about. And modern antifa emerged in the 80s in a totally different context. https://c4ss.org/content/50151

Modern antifa as a movement and groups in the US is descended from Anti-Racist Action in the 80s, which did not descend from the German Communists, although takes some influences from them. Indeed German commies are horrified by US antifa mass using the three arrows of the dem soc antifascists.

Indeed, if you knew anything about antifa you would know that communists have largely been at odds with antifa and hostile to it. Many of the big communist parties and orgs wrote denunciations of antifa in the 80s, as they saw it as an anti-authoritarian threat to them.

Modern antifa groups are roughly speaking 70% anarchist, 10% leftcom, 10% demsoc, with the remainder a weird mix of commies, liberals, and outright libertarians.

This is not an extension/continuation of the german communist party and you're an ignorant incurious dope for thinking so.

Like there was absolutely a big debate within antifascist ranks in early 2016 over whether Trump formally constituted a fascist and whether it was strategic to turn attention from prison nazis to something like electoral politics. But like Stancil doesn't care about facts about an outgroup.

I'm constantly on about how despised and marginalized antifa was within the Left before 2017, because I have always deeply appreciated them for having Been Right All Along.
