It seems that as gay and lesbian liberation has moved from the realm of activism and the academy into the neoliberal space of NGOs it has also lost a lot of social and political authenticity. Like so much of the identitarian phenomena that crowd out more universal solidarities.

1. True. My bad. The Q homologue is a bad example for the purposes of this poll – especially since its proponents typically use it as a kind of catch-all for anything that isn’t heterosexist/hegemonic.
