I feel like that older/younger YA imprint has the right idea, in that we desperately need more books targeted at 12-14yo kids. HOWEVER, a warning label on books for teens is an actively terrible idea.

Counterpoint: labeling Rap records as "dangerous" led to greater sales. PMRC did not label country records, even as they promoted infidelity, alcoholism, and reinforcing patriarchal gender norms.
Except labels on books will harm marginalized and lqbtq authors. They will use those labels to ban more books because they’re “explicit” topics. The labels will directly cause harm
Labeling teen books specifically as "dangerous" leads to them not being put in schools and libraries and makes it harder for their intended audience to access them
YA is undeniably focused on chosen one and romance narratives with very little being promoted in the
YA-12-14 space. Its out there, but hard to find. I'm working on one myself that is aimed at that age. Hopefully I'm getting it right, lot of effort to go through if not :)
