i said out of pocket maximum, not deductible. and i'm asking in regards to the $35k estimate for the inpatient care. because anything beyond about $9.5k for an individual plan for in-network care is basically non-existent due to marketplace plans more or less creating the baseline for other insurers

yeah, like, $35k for inpatient care with insurance sounds like the inpatient facility is somehow not creating an accurate estimate, even though that's literally an entire person's job at those places usually. OP, i'd be happy to look over your plan details to make sure they're not screwing you over

and, in fact, you maybe have benefits available to you, including possibly being able to submit your EMDR therapist to your insurance via superbill after the fact for possible reimbursement. insurance is half of my day job. :]

35k for inpatient is actually par for the course from what I’ve experienced.

In my two stints of inpatient/pip I was getting quoted 3k per day. I’d already met my OoP max for the year thankfully.

and no. regular DBT and CBT doesnt work. i have tried and it has caused me more harm than good. im suffering extreme flashbacks every. single. day.

EMDR and somatic therapy would be the most effective for my recovery but because they are specialized care my insurance will not cover the costs. im living off savings that is draining fast. my friends and partner are worried about me. i just want to live. please help.

I know lot of trauma survivors benefit from emdr. My sibling has ptsd from emotional abuse, emotional neglect, and giving cpr to their grandma when she was dead, and from them being frequently bullied by peers due to undiagnosed level 1 autism, and emdr helped them not faint at needles

I just am only able to benefit from ONLY dbt and cbt because my brain needs to be actively doing things and reframing things from my frequent misinterpretations due to bpd, hpd, schizo ocd, covert did and autism, literally every other therapy never works.

ERP does work for my schizo ocd and I'm looking into cognitive schema reframing foe when my schizo ocd starts getting bad again like it does every 5 years and I don't want an increase in latuda cuz I'm scared of tardive dyskenesia, but it's hard to find ERP programs for adults

Exposure response prevention for ocd is literally only provided on that NOCD website which I heard mixed things on if you have attachment trauma like me (which my dbt therapist said only dbt would be able to treat my level of disorganized attachment and dissociation) or for little kids

Oh christ I can relate with the circumstance, though I need specifically dbt instead of trauma focused therapy because if I talk about it I (ocd, bpd, hpd, possible covert did, autism, adhd) start obsessing and hyperfixating over it. I hope you get the healing you need ♡

I have CPTSD too. I know how awful it can be to live with. The best luck I have personally had was using Auvelity (basically a prescription that's a combo of bupropion and dextromethorphan). It's caused brief manic symptoms in me occasionally but it was the best medication I had gotten for me.

It's new, so insurances are charging for it like crazy, but it's not too hard to get the separate medicines and combine them (which is what I do because poor)

I hope for the best that you can get the therapy you need, but if it's something that's in your wheelhouse, it could be helpful.
