One of the biggest lessons from Syria is that, just a month ago, almost no one could have predicted the Assad regime would fall today. The "realities on the ground" crowd would have denied such a possibility. A reminder of why people in Ukraine fight rather than surrender.

France completely F%d up its interwar, and the consequences were a collapse in 5 days in May 1940.
Russia F%d so many things since 1991 that it can collapse also. But the exact trigger is impossible to forecast.

The UN and NATO should actively support Ukraine by providing everything it needs to exert pressure on Russia.
