I'm not sure what I was expecting to feel, but I can tell you losing this cat I've shared every day with for 14 years is every bit as painful as losing a human.

I'm so sorry for your loss, L. I'm glad to have been able to share in your daily adventures for the last few years and I will miss him too. RIP Sabbath π€π€
Sending care and concern your way. I lost Harvey nearly a decade ago. He was the mutt of all mutts, sweet with an edge. Grief is hard and I agree it's so painful. Holding space with you. Take care.
It truly is hard. I lost my little lady of 12 years in September and every day I miss her. It does get a little easier, but it's okay to feel the grief for as long as you need to.
Itβs grief, and donβt let anyone tell you otherwise. The stages and symptoms (if they can be called that) are exactly the same as for a human - let yourselves grieve, and plenty of self care, whatever that needs to look like x
βSelf careβ might mean lots of fruit and veg, long walks in the country, meditation, and sleep.
Or it could mean a three day bender and 20 cigarettes a day. Do what gets you through π
