The constitution originally protected white, male, landowners over the rights of others. I believe we are in a new phase in which it now protects corporations (predominantly owned by white males) over others. A way to protect privilege & continue to concentrate rights for the few. Agree. Anti-woke, anti-trans, anti-DEI, anti-immigrant, anti-muslim, anti-gender-equity all stack up to denial of responsibility and protection of wealthy white males of judeo-christian faith. Pro-corporate and pro-wealthy tax policies protect and liberate the wealthy at the expense of all others.

The only difference between the working class of today and the African slaves of old are that they had to use chains on the Africans so they knew they were slaves the working class instead of chains they used the illusion of freedom and choice but they are and were slaves all the same

Isn't that what happened after the civil war. Wealthy white male owned southern corporations were pardoned for the reconstruction of America. Seems like the money still controls all government action. At least citizens united made it all transparent.

The formal "corporation" was likely not created back then.

Today, a corporation can be sued for fraud, while the CEO of that corporation is not sued.

The separate legal entity of a corporation protects the CEO.

The company itself can go bankrupt, & the CEO can restructure the assets & be fine.

East India Trading was founded in 1602. What a great benefits package. Government created laws & oversite, & unlimited campaign contributions to those lawmakers. If we stay the coarse, the 99% will start working at the company store at 13yo & toil until death. Wish we had an un-corrupted Judiciary.

For the bottom 90%, we gain equity through home ownership. The refusal to build starter homes for decades, and no government push for it is hampering any and all chances at gaining an asset that a loan can be placed against to create a business to generate generational wealth.
