I told the person they were very rude and they screamed the same back.
Frankly I hope they don’t ever attempt to “help” a blind person again.
Their actions were disrespectful and dangerous.
The incident followed a familiar pattern for me as a blind person receiving “help” from the public.

As a blind person i absolutely need help sometimes.
However help is only helpful if the helper listens and respects the answer.
Especially if the answer is no.
No is a complete sentence.
The actions are often completely contrary to what would be helpful.
As a blind person being grabbed or pulled without warning is terrifying
The person demanding my attention with their “helping” & intervening only confused matters.
They grabbed the arm I was holding onto my guide dog’s harness taking away essential tactile information.
I already had a member of staff talking to me.
If you offer, listen to the response & respect a no.
Never grab, push or touch without permission.
Help should be helpful & consensual #JustAskDontGrab
every time, whether they said yes or no, i said okay and acted accordingly. people are very often selfish and ego-driven.
* i have blind family and friends so i guess i'm sensitive.
