We simply cannot assume democracies are strong because we elect “Honorable people” who love democracy. Every country should urgently review their constitutions to see what loopholes need closing before they’re driven through in a tank.
Surely the first lesson is that this was entirely legal, and there was a serious chance the military could blockade parliament stopping the vote against. If the president would have confided in one general it could have ended democracy in South Korea.
