Before HEAT (1995), Michael Mann filmed the same script for LA Takedown, a 1989 TV movie. Putting the diner scenes next to each other is a lesson in nuance, timing and emphasis, and what subtle changes achieve. Makes me think, in comics, of the difference one slightly displaced ink line can make.
