I thought so too. It broke my heart thinking of him wandering around the house alone for a week after his wife died - not understanding what was going on because of his Alzheimers.

Suffering for both.

It's a reminder to check in with the people around us. Not just friends and family but those who live alone and/or vulnerable. Create a caring community.

Sounds like advanced alzheimers / dementia, so he was completely unaware of what was happening.

To be that advanced he wouldn’t be bathing, eating. He would be falling down and would have wandered off long before the heart attack. It seems a little suspect to me.
