That’s a great idea!

Over there they do it because their constituencies are 10 times the size of ours, with an average of 750,000 voter. But it is a great way to hold our representatives directly to account in a more public forum.

Agree with some...but i wouldn't equalise capital gains, as a lot of investments come with risk, if there's no benefit to taking the risk people will not do it, heavily impacting the economy.

That said...I would heavily restrict what counts as capital gains to stop use as income tax avoidance

Baffled by the ‘required investments’ in ISAs. It will probably raise tax by restricting the tax efficient wrapper but it doesn’t make sense. Does anyone really think that the ‘cash’ is just sitting there in a cash ISA? It’s being lent out by banks, surely? And it distributes the risk.

It is interesting that so many western countries despite the make up of their government are fighting the same problem. The super rich are buying politicians who are allowing them to take whatever they want and break any law they feel like breaking. Hmmm
