The person I was with last weekend mentioned something about teaching me to shoot. I’m going to take him up on it. Absolutely not my preference but I feel it is necessary now.

Start with discipline and safety.
My partner and I got a shotgun for the home and a 9 to carry. We started by unloading everything, ammo away, checking safe and clear barrels and then he spent time teaching me how they worked. We just sat on the floor and handled each going through the functions.

You learn to rack and cock, drop mags, clear barrels, safety on and off, then take them apart and learn how they work. Just don’t point at yourself or another for any reason at any time, unless you intend to fire. Be careful not to muzzle sweep anyone (point straight down!)

We go to Range USA, the staff is nice and they have a ladies shooting club every second Saturday with instructors.

It’s really intimidating at first but once you breathe and realize you’re in control and you know how to make a firearm safe, it’s really rewarding and enjoyable! I hope this helps!

FYI, Temptations chunks in gravy cat food is only .80 each at the Dollar General. Add that to the rice and beans and you have your protein fiber and vitamins. I’m probably gonna come up with a cat food cookbook because that’s my retirement plan too.
