At least on the rally game front, we still have Nacon to look to for our WRC fixes. But yeah, what a run by Codemasters. Maybe GoG can do something to re-release the old games. Still love me some CMR2.0. Rudimentary physics model, but the flow of the race is so good!

If Nacon signs an agreement to pick the license back up. EA had the rights and I don't really see Nacon doing that in the current publishing climate.

On a lighter note, the spirit of rally racing is still going strong in other games, even though they're not physics-accurate or have any existing cars. Been rocking with Art of Rally, Rush Rally 3, even Victory Heat Rally. [Hashtag]Drive Rally is decent, too, and others are coming soon!

Parking Garage Rally Circuit is out now, DDI Rally Championship is on Early Access, and Over Jump Rally's release date is TBA. These three play like Sega Rally Championship, so that's promising for those who grew up playing that in the arcades.

Oh flip, the license. I wasn't sure how that was going since I wasn't following the release dates closely for WRC Generations and EA WRC, but I knew they were close together. Makes sense that EA got the license, since EA WRC released after WRC Generations. You're right, it's up to Nacon now.

Damn shame what EA did to Burnout, but at least Criterion has been working on the NfS franchise. I get this creeping sensation, though, that they're still not entirely immune to getting disbanded. You never know when the axe drops.

Damn... EA WRC was really good, too. Got slept on cause it had kind of a rough launch and the name was too similar to previous WRC games, but it was basically a Dirt Rally 3.

This is sad news but at the same time I felt like a lot of their racing games lost charm somewhere down the line, WRC was a meh game, at least we still have dirt rally 2 for a modern good rally game.
CMR 1 and 2 are both timeless.

I don't understand why car games are in such a crisis.
I thought "drive car fast and good" was like one of the most marketable, easy to identify, easy to grasp a concept, fantasies possible.
