Missouri Republicans took over the state and now basically just ignore the voters because they like seeing St Louis and Kansas city be impotent electorally.

They've ignored a BUNCH of ballot measures here and even tricked the electorate into repealing an anti-gerrymandering amendment awhile back.

Missourians have used the amendment process to try to pass a bunch of progressive policies and it's been a thing these people HATE. They even tried to add an extra hurdle to the process that'd basically give the rural counties veto power even if the majority of the state supported an issue.

Oh, absolutely, though I wouldn't put quotes around the word. Fascism is old, and was present in the US from early on. Can't forget Lindbergh (yes, THAT Lindbergh) who was very pro-eugenics and got involved with the America First Party. The Nazis took inspiration from the US in some ways, too.
