The main media companies have chosen a team and are unwilling to upset that team with the coverage this moment deserves.

Yeah. Like I get people’s frustration with democratic rhetoric but this is not a problem that gets fixed with democrats saying different or better words. It’s one of the key problems we all identified last year and now have decided to forget!

Like some of the Democrats best options for awareness are actually unmasking more of the fascism by getting arrested, etc.

Like I look at where my GOP family members get their news and what would make them motivated enough to even start calling Congress and I don't see a ton of great paths if NBC/etc is gonna act like deporting folks to random countries is normal or whatever the sane washing topic of the day is.

Like, maybe! I don’t think we can fully say, except that the aim there would seem to be spurring them to use more brutal claimed powers and then getting the public to rise up in response. That is, it’s a tactic based on an acknowledgement that any legit means are closed off.

Bc if it's crossed, the min level of violence that might break out is like civil rights era police violence.

Atm the least likely to be violent "America bends but doesn't break bc normie GOP voters got mad" outcome is probably recession.

That's because most of the Media of Record *wanted* Trump in power and have sanewashed and normalized his behavior going back 40 years. Graydon Carter pointed this out in -Spy- in the 1980's, but did anyone listen????
